This is the first of two parts of the Roger Waters concert The Wall. Performed in the Gelredome, Arnhem, The Netherlands on April 8th 2011. I filmed the complete show. My position is on the front rail (in golden circle) on the right side. Being at the side, sometimes some views are partially blocked, but I tried to capture it as best I could and all in all I’m quite happy with the end result. I used a Panasonic DMC-TZ7. Being a pocketcamera in can only film 15 minutes max at a time. So sometimes a few seconds are missing which is me stopping and starting again. As for the show, it rocks big time! Roger really outdid himself with this one. Music topnotch as usual, but the projections are also of the highest technical quality and its almost a piece of art. Props to the creators. Notice how projection is so precise that it only starts projecting on a brick when it is placed by the builders. Everything is in there, The teacher, mother & wife puppets, a flying pig, fireworks, amazing projection and Roger fisty as ever. I respect the man who is still so passionate after some 5 decades of performing and playing\creating music. On a personal note, for me it’s a dream come true. I’ve been to my fair share of big concerts, but The Wall was always the mythical concert from way back, which I could only enjoy in audio or video. Light is faster then sound, digital recording has its flaws. Roger plays live. Nice video. I was lucky to see this 3 times. Its almost better from the back because you can see everything. Interesting perspective though. The massive use of Iphones is very annoying. I accept that its going to happen. but you miss so much watching it through a 3 inch screen and or distract those behind you . The official dvd/ blu ray is going to be awesome.

He plays bass guitar. Looks to me like he was just in time for the first note. It looks like it is too late, but it isn’t; the bass line doesn’t start at the same time as the guitar solo part.
Furthermore, why would he pretend to play bass? He doesn’t lip-synch either, and he isn’t much of a singer. He’s a real musician though as far as I’m concerned.
