Q&A: What should I wear to an Interior Design interview?

Question by hppygrrl33: What should I wear to an Interior Design interview?
I know it’s better to dress up, not down, but I don’t have a matching suit. I have a black blazer that matches a pair of black skinny pants pretty well, but it isn’t an actual matching set. Can I get away with the black pants and a stylish but not too revealing top? Or should I wear the pants and blazer and pair it with a bright blouse? I think it would be good to show a little bit of my sense of style without being offensive…..Help!!

Doesn’t need to be a matching set, in fact Interior Designers are somewhat advant guarde about their style of dress. It is highly fashionable to mix and match fabrics and prints as long as you tie them together with accessories. Your clothing choices/fabrics and accessories will reflect your sense of style. Definitely select a light / contrasting color blouse if you are wearing the blazer. Another option is to wear slacks and a blouse then stylize with a pashmina, silk scarf or a statement piece of jewelry. Just make sure your blouse is conservative (no cleavage) Wear hose with your shoes as well.
