Question by BabyQuestions: I need some design ideas; looking to create a “moms” room?
I’m looking to create a room just for me, the Mommy’s room. I’m using this room to get some time away from the kids and to finally get some time to myself to read, listen to music or simply do some crafts away from my family. LOL God love them but sometimes mommy needs to have her own space!
Anyone have some ideas for me on design or things I should include?

A comfortable chair with an ottoman, side chair and lamp for reading. A stereo for listening to your music instead of Barney or Wiggles. A nice size desk for either writing, or doing crafts. Shelves for your supplies.

A favorite blanket or throw and a comfy pillow to go with the chair or sofa so you can take a nap when you are done reading or doing crafts or just to use immediately when you go into your space! A cordless phone so you can answer it just in case…I can only imagine …
1] desk with comfortable chair, large workspace
2] laptop? portable phone?
3] recliner, or chair with ottoman, or chaise lounge
4] reading lamp
5] bookshelves
6] throw or afghan for naps
7] radio/CD player combo
8] cabinets that lock for projects
9] sewing machine with table?
10] Big LOCK on door

Once you have this figured out.. then we can put together a game plan. If you would like I can help.
I am a decorating consultant for home interiors & gifts, so i am a pretty good canidate for help…lol.
A comfortable chair with an ottoman…so you can put your feet up…or maybe a chaise. Radio/CD player for your favorite music or soft relaxing background music. A soft comfy throw. A desk/table for doing your crafts with baskets or storage unit underneath to store your craft items. Candles in your favorite scent. Lots of plants…either real or silk. Paint the walls a light calm color…maybe light blue or light green…nature colors are always relaxing. Use some of your favorite items for knick-knacks. For the walls hang some of your favorite pictures…or pictures from some place you would love to visit or a favorite vacation spot.
Sounds like a great idea. Enjoy!
