Does anyone have decorating ideas for a coral reef atmosphere?

Question by CaptureAngel: Does anyone have decorating ideas for a coral reef atmosphere?
I am director of my church’s Vacation Bible School for this year. The theme is the Great Bible Reef, so it is a ocean/coral reef theme. I think the kids are going to love it. Does anyone have any decorating ideas on how to make the atmosphere look like a coral reef? I am looking for ideas that aren’t expensive and not too difficult to do. Any help is much appreciated!!

try a cheap coral reef temporary plastic wall paper. Also, what about some torquise streamers and a fish pinata. I suggest using alot of torquise blues and if a table is involved, decorate it with fake starfish. What about making a mini beach?

What do you think? Answer below!

OK well first of all the kids would probably like to help paint the sets, so baby get a beach like back round and get the kids to draw sea shells and stuff like that but when i helped my dad decorate for a movie (that’s coming out in 2008 =]]) we had a million people helping With the set but my dad let me decorate this one table and i got a few people to help it was kinda like a desk so we took the top off and got a clear glass one but first we dded a lot of sand and shells and some water and it looked pretty cool and it made the movie come out more, but also the decorations you7 should try to keep simple if its only for a church play your only gunna use it once so maybe cheap hand made by u and ur crew could really make the play come out

Cut out fish shapes and add glitter and glue
thread a needle with 8 lb or less test fishing line and string the fis leaving space between by tying knots then hang the fish on the nearly invisible thread from the ceiling or door frame. You can do this with paper.

Create a fishing net and you can drape it on the wall, one day with fish that have the names of the Apostles, Or phrases from the text you are studying on them, Christ was a fisher of men after all.
You could borrow or acquire a ripped net from any fishing member of the church and let them play a game of casting their net upon the waters and catching toys or treats.

Don’t forget to add a sunken “treasure chest” with broken costume jewelry and beads spilling out of it. What is the greatest treasure?
Blue celophane or sheer blue fabric on the windows give a watery light as the sun shines throuogh and when the lights are out in the classroom it is very dark at nap or quiet time.
